‘America For Jesus 2012′ Christians Unite!
Christians come out of the closet. End the silence. Stand up for Jesus and our Holy Bible. Combat Christophobia. Legalize Jesus.
Pastors and Christian leaders from around the country came together this week for final planning stages of a national prayer event meant to address the “moral depravity” in the United States today.
The “America for Jesus” rally is set for Sept. 28-29 in Philadelphia.
Rep. Randy Forbes, a leader in the Congressional Prayer Caucus, spoke to organizers about how critical it is to take prayer to the public square.
“We end up getting in buildings by ourselves, and we lift up God, and we pray,” he said this week in Virginia Beach, Va.
“We talk about the importance of prayer, while they’re out there ripping our school system a part, ripping our military apart spiritually, and changing the very core architecture of this nation that was founded on biblical principles,” he continued.
At least 30,000 people are expected to attend the event, which kicks off just 40 days before voters head to the polls for the U.S. presidential election.
But Anne Gimenez, pastor of Rock Church in Virginia Beach and chair of “America for Jesus,” said this isn’t about relying on politics or people to change the United States.
“We don’t feel a man can save America,” Giminez said in July, referring to the presidential contenders. “God is our only hope.”
She added that Philadelphia was chosen as the city to hold the event because of its link to America’s independence.

What is AFJ?
A solemn assembly to summon together the whole body of Christ to pray for the church and our nation. Based on the text in 2 Kings 2:19-22, we believe God is calling His people to bring “the salt” which is the church to the head of the waters where the foundation of our American liberty was birthed in Philadelphia and to intercede for God to heal the land. 2 Kings 2:19-22 19And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren. 20And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him. 21And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land. 22So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he
spake.
When is AFJ?
September 28th & 29th 2012
Where is AFJ?
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is where the Declaration of Independence was signed. This is the location where the Constitution of the United States was debated and then ratified after much prayer. Additionally, this spot hosted the writing of the Bill of Rights. All of these concepts were harvested from a seed planted by William Penn, a Quaker, who founded Pennsylvania’s government on principles of Freedom & Equality. In 1751 the Pennsylvania General Assembly commissioned a foundry in England to forge a bell in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of William Penn’s Constitution for Pennsylvania, the Charter of Privileges. On the bell is inscribed Leviticus 25:10 which says,
“Proclaim liberty throughout the land unto the inhabitants thereof.”
Why AFJ?
America is in a state of emergency evidenced by the symptoms of widespread moral depravity and economic meltdown. Education, government, and man’s wisdom cannot solve this problem. There is only one remedy that truly can “heal the Land”-
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. God required four things of His people before he would hear them. 1) humility 2) prayer 3) seek the Lord & 4) repentance.
